Monday: The usual reshelving, classes and checking in & out. Two new theme tables: Father's Day (10.11.) and Finnish-Swedish Heritage Day (06.11.) where Tove Jansson could just not be missing.
We also had the next monthly assembly to introduce the next Virtue of the Month: courage!
I also looked up the name of that program: "The Virtues Project". Another theme table to be made.

I covered some more books and we started setting up our hallway installation about fantasy books in the library collection. For which I designed some poster flyers.

Tuesday madness will intensify in the future with now 4 classes visiting the library. (Pls kill me)
Covering even more books from the book fair... and we read two books about environmental pollution to the preschool kids: Janoinen Varis (Thirsty crow) where a crow puts pebbles into the water jug until it can reach the water and drink and then the children's book "Someone swallowed Stanley" where a plastic bag got swallowed by a lot of sea creatures and ultimately was made into a kite by a boy that rescued the sea turtle from suffocation. So: don't put too much stuff into the ocean until it's no more an ocean but a landfill. Or something like that. The best we could do in that age range xD
Wednesday consisted of reshelving, check in & out, classes visiting and covering, repairing and sorting out books.
Valimotie (MS-HS)
Thursday and Friday I researched and started to create a presentation about German children's book authors. It was asked of me by the principal of elementary school. I decided to do a self-introduction, talk about German culture a bit and give some facts about Germans and books. Regarding authors I was drawing from my time in a previous internship in Berlin's public libraries. But I was a little bit clueless. I decided to not go back too far and leave out the Grimm brothers... Otfried Preussler, Erich Kästner, Michael Ende,... I got lost a bit learning about their biographies. It was very interesting. Especially the childhood of Paul Maar. My condolences and congratulations for being so resourceful. I had a really hard time finding translations for "Das Sams" though. The Slurb. Yeah. No. I guess it would also be hard to translate because of the dependance on German language. I still took him in the list. Let's see where this will go.
The days are getting darker and darker now. Sun setting at around 14 already. Light necessary the whole day. Everyone getting sleepy. Except the children of course.
